Study association i.d is one of Delft's largest and most active study associations with more than 2,500 members and 27 committees. As chairman of the 44th board it was my job to keep track of group dynamics and ensure the board was effective in its tasks of setting and implementing the board’s policy and strategy.
During my studies I organized various business events like the IDE Business Fair where students have the opportunity to meet companies from the field of Industrial Design. In total more than 50 companies present themselves during lunch lectures, workshops, speed dates and ultimately a two day fair in the main hall of the faculty to provide interesting opportunities to the students.
In the past years I organized a big variety of social activities. During my board year I was responsible for running our Cafe (i.d-Kafee) which has a total turnover of over €100,000 per year and hosts weekly Wednesday night drinks, various parties throughout the year and all kinds of receptions. Also I supported organizing the yearly freshmen weekend and IO Festival which hosts up to 1600 visitors.
Together with 7 students I worked together during the whole academic year to organize a study trip to China; to select students and professors, acquire companies and arrange flights, accommodation, activities and more. This year I am organizing the master study trip to Brazil.
During my studies I organized different educational activities and supported the organization of a two-day international interaction design symposium. Also I taught and coached first year bachelor students and I assessed applications for the bachelor programme.
I would describe myself as a positive and energetic team player who enjoys working together and creating social connections with others.
