Flight Case is an annual summer programme, I organized organized twice, in which we teamed up with international companies to create dynamic and innovative solutions for challenging design questions. The group consisted of 28 carefully selected students guided by 2 Professors from Delft University of Technology. The committee was responsible for the organisation from A to Z. Starting with selecting an interesting destination, contacting companies to collaborate with, recruiting ambitious students, setting up and organising an elective reseach course and finally all logistic arrangements concerning the journey itself.
Firstly we started preparing for the cases in the Netherlands by making a company analysis, and doing research to case topics and relevant cultural aspects. During the summer we visited the companies in China to work on the cases and present the final outcomes.
During FlightCase I worked on highly varying design topics like, clean air solutions for Philips, Bluetooth lighting control systems for Opple, new business models for bike sharing for King-Meter and on improving the experience of driving for deaf people in collaboration with universities in Beijing.
The goal of FlightCase is to enable students to get in touch with a different culture in a professional way, gaining experience with large and small international companies as well as building a social network.
The aim of this booklet is to showcase a brief overview of the collaborations with the partners that made FlightCase 2017 possible. Giving an impression of the experiences while working together with Philips Air & Kitchen Appliances, Opple Lighting, King-Meter and different universities in Beijing.
